The Life of Moses: Experiencing More of God
Exodus 2:23-3:10

1. Groan and cry out not grumble and complain v.2:23
2. Realize it is God’s faithfulness and not your merit v.2:24-25
Genesis 17:7–8, “I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”
Hebrews 7:25, “Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
3. Know that waiting doesn’t mean denial nor is it a waste of time v.3:1
Warren Weirsbe: It seemed that God was doing nothing and was waiting for the right time to act. Whenever God works, He chooses the right worker, uses the right plan, and acts at the right time.
4. Keep turning toward the Lord v.2-4
Hosea 6:3, “Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
5. Revere God’s holiness v.5-6
6. Stay ready for divine appointments v.7-10

Faith in Affliction

1. Faith is fearing God and not fearing man
Hebrews 11:23, “By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.”
2. Faith is believing God but not being foolish
3. Faith is continuing to act on God’s word despite contrary circumstances
4. Faith is trusting God’s providence despite what is happening
2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith and not by sight.”

Ephesians 6:19-20, Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make know them mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.
1. Paul’s chains gave him contact with the lost
2 Timothy 2:8-9, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound.”
2. Paul’s chains gave courage to the saved
1 Thessalonians 5:11, Encourage one another and build one another up.
1 Corinthians 14:26, Let all things be done for building up.
Hebrews 13:3, Encourage one another day after day
Hebrews 10:24, Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
